Veteran's Day

On November 11, 1918 at 11:00 a.m, fighting officially ended for World War I. One year later in 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11th as the first Armistice Day.  In 1938 November 11th became a national holiday celebrating and honoring our nation's veterans.  The national Veteran's Day ceremony is held at Arlington National Cemetery at the Tom of the Unknown Soldier. Our middle school ceremony was held on Monday November 11, 2013.

Which is Better?

Disney World

The 42 year old Orlando, Florida attraction  created by Walt Disney, had 10,000 people   attend its opening. Disney world only closed three times since its opening because of hurricanes. It is the size of San Francisco but only about 35 percent of its more than 27,000 acres have been developed. Mickey Mouse has more than 290 outfits and Minnie has more than 200 outfits. Cinderella's castle is made out of fiberglass, and stands 189 feet tall.   Disney World's biggest theme park, Animal     Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, takes up 403 acres   and features more than 3,000 species. Disney   has more than 270 busses, making it the third largest bus system in the state. In           Cinderella's castle is an apartment that Walt Disney was going to use when he and his family were in Florida. Now it is a deluxe suite. If you were to stay in a different room every night at the Disney World resorts, to sleep in them all would take you 68 years.
