Veteran's Day
On November 11, 1918 at 11:00 a.m, fighting officially ended for World War I. One year later in 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11th as the first Armistice Day. In 1938 November 11th became a national holiday celebrating and honoring our nation's veterans. The national Veteran's Day ceremony is held at Arlington National Cemetery at the Tom of the Unknown Soldier. Our middle school ceremony was held on Monday November 11, 2013.
